Hong Kong whiskey connoisseurs have something to cheer about as Johnnie Walker has partnered with a local restaurant to create a new menu to celebrate the recent launch of the limited-edition Black Label Sherry Finish.
Now through August 19, the whiskey brand is partnering with the Doubleshot by Cupping Room for “My Sherry Corner,” a space that serves a quartet of bespoke cocktails and a mouthwatering seasonal brunch menu of sweet and savory dishes mixed with liquors.
The menus are inspired by the bold, dynamic flavor layers that Black Label is known for, with a particular focus on the sweetness of figs and peaches that come from sherry barrels seasoned in Black Label Sherry Finish.
Smooth, silky Scotch is made using whiskeys that have spent at least 12 years aging into a vibrant body of flavor finished in sherry-sweetened barrels from Jerez in southern Spain for smooth, sweet notes.
Cocktails include the Blackcurrant Highball, a twist on the traditional Johnnie Walker ball with black currants mixed with soda water and a sprig of fresh mint for garnish, and the Blackcurrant Spritz, a fruity cocktail that combines Johnnie Walker Black
Mark sherry at the end with cassis poured with soda water and garnished with a slice of lime.
These four bold cocktails are available at the Doubleshot by Cupping Room for HK$118 (US$15) or HK$58 when paired with the restaurant’s limited-time brunch menu.
The menu features a Double Smashed Burger with Johnnie Walker Sherry Finish Onion Jam ($168 HK), which features premium USDA beef patties accompanied by bacon and onion jam dipped in sherry whiskey, served with a side of French fries.
For a sweeter affair, try Johnnie Walker Black Label Sherry Finish x La Viña Chocolate Banana Whiskey Cake, both a mini (HK$68) and a whole cake (HK$468, pre-order only).
The delicious dessert will be available in both the Doubleshot by Cupping Room as well as La Viña and consists of a Johnnie Walker Black Sherry finishing mousse that wraps a moist chocolate sponge cake with crunchy chocolate Fuilletine and banana cream, over a crumbly chocolate base.
