Singapore police investigate Liverpool fans who stormed the pitch (video)

Police are investigating two hackers who became agitated after a football match.

Videos of the two players, who ran onto the pitch after Friday’s Premier League match between Liverpool and Crystal Palace, circulated over the weekend. Police said yesterday that the two men, 17 and 41, are under investigation for trespassing at the National Stadium.

“Two men, aged 17 and 41, will assist in investigations into the offense of willful trespass under Section 21 (1) of the Miscellaneous Offenses (Public Order and Nuisance) Act 1906,” the police said.

Videos showed two men in Liverpool shirts dashing and jumping across barriers and entering the stadium to approach the Liverpool team as they roamed the field to celebrate their 2-0 victory. Security chased them and eventually confronted them.

Another video showed the security men holding them by their arms and taking them out of the scene.

The Standard Chartered Cup Singapore 2022 match saw more than 50,000 spectators.

Many fans did the same in the 2019 match between Brazil and Senegal, and another between Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur where football star Cristiano Ronaldo played.

If found guilty, they can be fined up to S$1,000.
