The police are prohibited from setting fire to the office starting today.
General Suwat Chaengyodsuk of the Royal Thai Police signed an order on Tuesday banning law enforcement from smoking marijuana or cannabis in all police stations.
In addition, people who come to these areas smoking or smelling weed will be prosecuted under the Public Health Act. This also applies in cases where they can contact government officials working under the supervision of the police, as it may hinder their work.
Police departments should also have the phrase “Do not smoke marijuana or cannabis.”
The memo also advised police chiefs and department heads to supervise their subordinates to help control recreational use that might violate the law or affect the officers’ excellent image.
